PetroChina plans mega pipeline

PetroChina Co plans to build the world's largest gas pipeline to carry the fuel from Turkmenistan to the financial centre of Shanghai and the southern manufacturing hub of Guangzhou, Chairman Jiang Jiemin said.
China's biggest oil producer has signed a 30-year agreement with Turkmenistan to buy 17 billion cu metres of gas annually, Jiang told reporters in Hong Kong.

PetroChina also has production sharing contracts with the central Asian nation to extract 13 billion cu metres of the fuel a year, he said.
