Asia United Business Aviation to launch air taxi service

Air taxi service will be available in China by Asia United Business Aviation later this month, providing private jet flight priced at US$5,300 per hour.

The luxury air taxi operated by Asia United Business Aviation is expected to make its debut by the end of August in Shenzhen, the first of its kind in the city in South China.

Asia United Business Aviation is a joint venture established by Shenzhen Airlines (the largest shareholder), Hong Kong-based Business Aviation Asia Limited and Beijing-based National Trust & Investments Ltd. this April.

Du Yanpeng, marketing director of Asia United Business Aviation, said the air taxi will be put into use is a 10-seat GulfStream 200 worth US$24 million. The aircraft arrived at Shenzhen International Airport on Aug. 18.

The jet can fly six and a half hours at one fueling. The pilot of the jet is allowed to fly up to 10 hours at one time.

Asia United Business Aviation will build a terminal, an apron and a hangar for this jet and other air taxis in both Shenzhen and Beijing.

The one who has booked the maiden flight of the jet is not revealed, but Du said the company would charge US$5,300 per hour for the flight of the air taxi.
