Bank of America creates role of country executive for China

Bank of America has promoted its managing director Ian Wong to the newly created role of country executive for China, the bank announced Monday.

Wong would head offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou but continue to be based in Shanghai, where he was previously general manager of the bank's branch there. He would report to Frederick Chin, regional executive for greater China and head of corporate and investment banking (MNC), Asia.

"We will continue to deliver winning solutions for our clients," Wong said, noting that the bank has achieved compounded growth of over 80 percent in China.

Bank of America is one of the world's biggest financial institutions and offers a variety of financial products and services, including banking, investing and asset management, to customers in 175 countries and territories.
