Bright Foods Group boosts farmers' income
BEIJING, Aug.1 -- The state-owned Bright Foods Group has signed seven contracts with firms and local governments throughout the country.
The biggest food group in Shanghai did not reveal the total value of the deals signed but said they would increase earnings for 100,000 farmers nationwide.
The contracts include a letter of intent to invest not less than 100 million yuan (13 million U.S. dollars) in Inner Mongolia's largest beef processing firm, Keerqin. Other deals were signed in Heilongjiang, Anhui and Hubei provinces and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
