China's Foreign Trade of Electronic Information Products Up

China's foreign trade of electronic information products, including consumer electronics, computers and home electrical appliances, amounted to 350.75 billion U.S. dollars in the first half, up 21.7 percent on the same period last year, the Ministry of Information Industry announced on Tuesday.

The ministry said the growth rate was 15.7 percentage points lower than the year-earlier level.

The total trade volume included 198.11 billion U.S. dollars in exports, an increase of 24.9 percent, and 152.64 billion U.S. dollars in imports, up 17.8 percent.

In the first half, wholly-foreign-owned companies accounted for133.94 billion U.S. dollars, or 67.6 percent, of the country's total export volume of electronic and information products, and Sino-foreign joint ventures accounted for 32.87 billion U. S. dollars, or 16.6 percent of the total, according to the MII.
