Daily Power Generation Output Surpasses 10 Billon KWH in China

According to the information from the National Power Dispatching and Communication Center (Beijing, China), the national daily power generation output surpassed 10 Billon kWh and reached 10.276 billion kWh on August 1, 2007, which created a record high in the 125 years of the electric power history in China. The maximum load of the grid under united dispatching reached 403.4 million kilowatts (KW). Among them, the daily power generation output under the united dispatching area of the State Grid Corporation of China (Beijing, China) reached 7.429 billion kWh, and the maximum load under united dispatching reached 340.5 million KW.

Following swift economic development and improving delivery, electric power has become an increasingly important necessity in production and daily life. By the end of June 2007, the installation capacity of generating units of 6 megawatts (MW) or above reached 623.15 million KW. Since the national daily power generation output surpassed 10 Billon kWh the first time on July 18, 2007, new records have been created one after another. On August 1, 2007, the national daily power generation output even reached 10.276 billion kWh, which is equivalent to the annual power output in 1949, or the power output of a half month in 1978. Compared with the maximum daily power output in 2002, the value is doubled. Compared with the maximum daily power output in 2006, it is an increase of 15.25%.

Up to August 1, 2007, historic record high loads have been achieved in 21 power grids at the provincial level or above within the supply scope of the State Grid Corporation. Among them, the maximum load of the East China Grid and North China Grid reached 122.37 million KW and 109.08 million KW, respectively, and became the two largest regional grids with a maximum load over 100 million KW; the maximum load of the Central China Grid, Jiangsu Grid, Zhejiang Grid and Shanghai Grid also surpassed 70 million KW, 45 million KW, 30 million KW and 20 million KW, respectively.
