ElMansoori and Hilong make a move

United Arab Emirates-based oilfield services provider AlMansoori Specialised Engineering has teamed up with China's Hilong Group to set up a drill pipe manufacturing plant and an Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) finishing plant in Abu Dhabi.

The joint venture - AlMansoori Hilong Petroleum Pipe Company - will be based in Abu Dhabi. The company will manufacture drill pipe with an annual capacity of 18,000 tonnes, while the OCTG end finishing plant will have a capacity of 50,000 tonnes, ramping up to 100,000 tonnes within two years.

The company will specialise in drill pipe manufacturing, internal coating application for drill pipe and OCTG, hardbanding on drilling tools and OCTG finishing.
