Phase I of Guodian Feixian Power Plant Put into Full Operation

The No. 2 Unit of the Guodian Feixian Power Plant passed the 168-hour full load trial operation, and was handed over for commercial operation officially in North China’s Shangdong Province on August 5, 2007. This marks that Phase I, two 600-megawatt (MW) supercritical coal-fired units project of Guodian Feixian Power Generation Company, Limited (Shandong, China) was fully complete and put into operation.

Guodian Feixian Power Generation Company, Limited is a large-scale coal-fired power plant built under the control of China Guodian Corporation (Beijing, China), with a total planned installed capacity of 7,300 MW. The power plant has been listed as one of the six 5,000 MW level power generation bases in the “1691” development program of China Guodian Corporation (“1691” represents having (1) valley hydropower development with an installed capacity of 15,000 MW, (6) 5,000 MW level large power generation or coal power integrated bases, (9) 3,000 MW level power bases, and 10,000 MW of installed capacity in clean and new energies by 2020) and also the largest construction project ever built in the Yimeng Region.

Construction of Phase I was officially started on December 26, 2004, and the No. 1 Unit was put into operation on December 25, 2006. The No. 2 Unit was synchronized to the grid and put into operation for the first time on July 24, 2007. During the construction and commissioning period, the automation in operation rate, protection in operation rate, instruments in operation rate and the steam water qualification rate were all 100%. Various production indicators are of an excellent level. Boiler water pressure test, energizing of station service power supply, boiler ignition, unit startup, first synchronization and 168-hour trial operation, all key nodes in the entire project, were successfully performed. The boiler combustion system is adopted with an advanced ignition and stable combustion technology, which achieved successful ignition without adding oil. So far, the project had generated 2.016 billion kWh of power this year.
