Private-owned Technology Enterprises Create Much Revenue

private-owned technology enterprises have become an important force in pushing forward the economic development of China. In 2006, the country's private-owned technology enterprises generated revenue of nearly eight trillion yuan, 26% of the total revenue created by the country's industrial enterprises.

Duan Yongji, Chairman of China Non-Governmental Science Technology Entrepreneurs Association, introduced that presently the number of private-owned enterprises in China reaches more than 150,000. There are altogether over 13,000,000 people involved.

In recent years, China's privately-owned technology enterprises have covered broader fields, from electronics information, bio-technology and new energy to the chemical industry, steel, aviation and others.

Statistics show that, among technology and Industrial Parks at all levels, the ratio of privately-owned scientific technology enterprises accounts for 80% to 90%.
