Wong promoted

THE Bank of America has promoted Ian Wong to the newly created role of country executive for China, the bank announced yesterday.

Wong will head offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou but continue to be based in Shanghai, where he was previously general manager of the bank's branch there. He will report to Frederick Chin, head of corporate and investment banking in Asia.
