Ericsson to offer telecom service for Beijing subway
Ericsson (China) Ltd., a leading telecom supplier worldwide, announced on Thursday that it would provide communications service for No.10 subway line in Beijing.
Ericson said some 3G network interfaces had been preserved on the subway line. The communication network could support the three mainstream 3G standards of TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000, and WCDMA after it is constructed.
Chen Dexing, supervisor of Ericsson China’s Urban Coverage Intellectual Center, stated that the communication network will be able to cover the multi-system and multi-operators, including China Mobile's <941>
The wireless communications system for the No. 10 subway line involves DCS and PAS, as well as coverage of digital TV broadcast in DVB-T and DAB formats, according to China Daily. This is the first time that 3G technology is introduced and applied in communication services in China.
No. 10 subway line will be used to serve the participants and audience of Olympic Games in Beijing, in 2008.
