BASF opens concrete plant in Shandong

BASF, the world's top chemical company, announced on Dec.14 to open a concrete admixture plant in Zibo, China's Shandong Province, in a bid to increase BASF's production and distribution capacity in eastern China.

The plant will produce series of concrete admixture, including advanced products such as GLENIUM and RHEOPLUS, which helps the concrete producer to enhance its strength and working performance of the concrete.

Bao Guorui, Vice President of BASF, told sources that the opening of Zibo plant was an important step in BASF's marketing plan in China and BASF will provide advanced products and services to the fast-growing local infrastructure construction sector.

In addition, BASF has joined the construction of Qingdao Bay Bridge. With the total length of 35.4 kilometers, the bridge will be finished by 2010.
