China's FAW Group appoints new general manager
State-owned FAW Group Corp, one of China's largest automakers, said it has appointed former government official Xu Jianyi to replace Zhu Yanfeng as general manager.
Xu was previously a vice president of FAW and was communist party chief of the city government of Jilin in Jilin province.
Zhu is now the vice governor of Jilin province.
FAW, a local joint venture partner of Volkswagen AG and Toyota Motor, said earlier this week that it expects volume sales to increase 23 pct to 1.43 mln units in 2007, with profit to surge 252 pct to 12.3 bln yuan.
