Galaxy Securities grabs the first IB license for stock index futures
News came out that Galaxy Securities yesterday obtained the approval of the country's top securities regulator to undertake the intermediary business (IB), which made it the first securities dealer to get the license.
Wu Shenqing, general manager of the broker's retail customer dept. and head of its stock index futures IB unit, told reporters that Galaxy Securities had started active preparation as early as October 2006, esp. in technical terns and risk education, as stock index futures with its highly-leveraged and T+0 characteristics are the most favored financial derivatives vehicle by institutions and risk-taking retail investors. Therefore, Galaxy Securities focused on risk control, trading speed, and training in its preparatory work, and set up a derivatives trade center with independent trading seat, futures and spot trading systems.
According to Wu, Galaxy Securities will develop investment analysis tools especially for non-professional investors to help them catch on and familiarize with different trading tactics.

Buying memory is such a chore... You have to search online for prices, filter through which ones are legit, step out and walk around a bunch of shops, compare prices, finally buy your memory, and then constantly pray that the price doesn't drop in the next two weeks or so.
I've been done in by crazy price changes in the past... especially this one time when I bought a Micro SD for my R4 gaming flash card at what I mistakenly assumed was a steal, only to later see that it fell five bucks in a week.
