HKSAR gov't records surplus
The government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Friday announced its financial results for November, recording a surplus of 32.4 billion HK dollars (4.15 billion U.S. dollars) in the months.
The surplus was mainly attributed to profits tax and land sale in October, the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau said, adding that fiscal reserves stood at 419.9 billion HK dollars (53.83 billion U.S. dollars) at the end of November.
The HKSAR government collected a total of 51.1 billion HK dollars (6.55 billion U.S. dollars) in revenue in November while spending a total of 18.7 billion HK dollars (2.4 billion U.S. dollars), leading to the surplus.
For the eight months ending Nov. 30, the surplus was 50.6 billion HK dollars (6.49 billion U.S. dollars), the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau said.
