Longtan Hydropower Project begins to generate power

On the morning of December 26, the first batch of three generators at the Longtan Hydropower Project in Guangxi was put into operation ahead of schedule.

The Longtan Hydropower Project is a landmark project in the development of western regions and "of the West-East electricity transmission project;" and is the second largest operational hydroelectric power project in China following the Three Gorges Hydropower Plant.
