Taiwan WiMAX licensee Global Mobile raises initial paid-in capital of over NT$1 billion

Global Mobile, a WiMAX licensee for the northern region of Taiwan, on December 26 announced it has raised an initial paid-in capital of NT$1.127 billion (US$34.7 million), higher than the required minimum of NT$1 billion, from shareholders in various industries and plans to kick operation in the fourth quarter of 2008.

With a registered capital of NT$3.5 billion, Global Mobile plans to raise additional capital in 2009, with the existing shareholders to be the main targets, the company pointed out. Global Mobile will cooperate with shareholders to promote integration with different related industries to form a WiMAX industrial chain, the company indicated.
