Bank of China Launches Mobile Banking Service in Macau
Bank of China's Macau Branch and local GSM/3G network operator, CTM have launched a mobile banking service. The service, branded as "iT" will be made available through CTM's WeWap mobile Internet portal.
Mr. Lai Chankeong, Deputy General Manager of Bank of China Macau Branch, said in the speech of the launching ceremony, "Information technology progresses, like the Chinese saying, 'in the speed of thousand miles a day', mobile communication has entered the new 3G generation. In the meantime, Bank of China Macau Branch, moving ahead and in co-operation with CTM, are pleased to introduce the New iT's Mobile Banking Service. From now on, our customers may have access to our financial management and investment service more easily with their mobile phones through CTM WeWAP mobile internet. I believe, this new technology will bring about a brand new experience, and will be welcome and widely used by our customers."
Apart from the general banking transactions, such as account balance enquiries, fund transfers, fixed/special deposits and Forex trading, the New iT's Mobile Banking Services also provides instant stock quotation and stocks trading, real-time update of profit and loss via enquiry about the investment portfolio and new stock subscription service. The service is charged at a flat rate of MOP10 (US$1.30) per month by CTM, with unlimited volume of local data download.
