Four companies share the order of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway

Reporters from the railway works trading centre were informed of the tendered construction plans for the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway.

China Railway Construction Corporation, China Iron Co., China Water Conservancy and Hydropower Construction Group Corporation and China Traffic Construction Corp. will jointly invest 83.7 billion yuan for the construction of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway.

The civil engineering construction of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway is shared by six tenders. China Railway Construction Corporation won two of the largest tenders – a total of 33.74 billion yuan – and construction will be carried out by its Rail 12 Bureau and Rail 17 Bureau. China Railway Construction holds 40 percent of all construction tasks, making it the largest contributor to the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway construction. China Railway is the successful bidder of 21.96 billion yuan, 26 percent of the total, and construction will be carried out by its Rail 1 Bureau and Rail 3 Bureau. China Water Conservancy and Hydropower Construction Corporation finished with a bid of 14.27 billion yuan: 17 percent of the total. China Traffic Construction Corp. finalized an order of 13.7 billion yuan: 16 percent of the total.

Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway will have a total length of 1,318 km, a maximum target speed of 350 km per hour, and an initiation speed of 300 km/hour. Once complete, it will take only five hours to travel directly from Beijing to Shanghai.
