Gold price higher in Hong Kong -- Jan. 3

The gold price in Hong Kong went up 190 HK dollars to 7,989 HK dollars per tael on Thursday, according to the Bank of China (Hong Kong).

The price is equivalent to 859.7 U.S. dollars a troy ounce, up 20.98 U.S. dollars at Thursday's exchange rate of one U.S. dollar against 7.8005 HK dollars.
