Spreadtrum, Amoi and Kuro launch solution for music phones

Spreadtrum Communications, Inc, Amoi Electronics Co., Ltd (Amoi)<600057> and Beijing Kuro Times Tech Co., Ltd (Kuro) jointly announced on Tuesday China's first solution for music phones offering copyrighted music, when Amoi unveiled its new music phones A616 and A636 at the beginning of the new year, according to sources.

The new solution is specifically designed for the growing mobile music market, which not only brings high quality copyright protected music to Chinese mobile handset users, but pushes domestic music phones' industrial chain to the convergence of the '4Cs'- communication, chip, content and copyright.

Spreadtrum Communications is a fabless semiconductor company that develops baseband processor solutions for the wireless communications market.

Listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 1997, Amoi Electronics is principally engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of telecoms terminal products and consumer electronic products.

Kuro is a digital multi-media content service provider, with its core businesses including creating user-friendly driven service and delivering e-CD formatted legal contents with powerful portable devices download capability.
