Taiwan Dec CPI up 3.34 pct yr-on-yr vs 4.80 pct rise in Nov
The consumer price index in December was up 3.34 pct year-on-year and up a seasonally adjusted 0.24 pct month-on-month at 107.74, the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics said.
The CPI uses a 2001 benchmark of 100.
The December CPI growth figures compare with a 4.80 pct year-on-year increase and a seasonally adjusted 0.37 pct month-on-month rise in November.
The December core price index, which excludes prices of fresh vegetables and fruits, fishery products and energy, was up 2.57 pct from a year earlier and up 0.11 pct from November.
In November, the core price index rose 2.36 pct year-on-year and 0.26 pct month-on-month.
The wholesale price index in December rose 8.51 pct year-on-year to 128.79 (2001 benchmark of 100) and rose a seasonally adjusted 0.83 pct month-on-month.
In November the wholesale price index rose by a revised 8.10 pct year-on-year and rose by a seasonally adjusted 1.93 pct month-on-month.
The CPI registered an average 1.80 pct rise in 2007, against the government forecast of 1.65 pct.
The 2007 core price index added 1.35 pct while the wholesale price index increased 6.45 pct.
