China's Hainan Airlines to launch Beijing-Seattle direct flight

China's Hainan Airlines (HNA)<600221><900945>, the fourth-biggest Chinese airline, announced on Wednesday it would launch a direct air route between Beijing and Seattle from June 9 this year.

It will become the first Chinese carrier to use the new China-U.S. air transport rights since the two countries reshaped a civil aviation agreement last July.

The new flight, which has got approval from the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) and the Department of Transportation of the U.S., will fly four times a week between the two cities.

HNA said it will sell tickets at a low price, approximately RMB 5,960 (about US$839) for a round-trip.

During its 14-year operation, HNA remains continuous, fast and healthy development, aiming at becoming the first choice airline for passengers and one of the world's famous brands.
