Air France-KLM mulls more Shanghai route

Air France KLM, Europe's leading carrier, plans to introduce four daily flights from Shanghai to Europe this summer, sources reported.

The carrier will add four more flights between Shanghai and Amsterdam starting on April 1, making itself the first European airline to offer flights from Shanghai to a single city in Europe twice a day, said Sylvain Grados, regional manager of Air France-KLM Shanghai, adding that it will also operate double daily Shanghai-Paris routes by adding two more weekly flights from June 11.

The Europe-based global carrier aims to expand capacity in China over the next five years through strengthened co-operation with Chinese partners and innovation, earlier sources quoted Jean-Cyril Spinetta, chairman and CEO of Air France KLM as saying in 2006. It also targets at as much as 15% business growth in China over the next five years.
