China says Jan crude runs up 5.7 pct
China's refineries processed 28.44 million tonnes (6.70 million barrels per day) of crude oil in January, 5.7 percent more than in the same month a year earlier, calculations based on official data showed on Thursday.
Domestic crude output for the month was down 1.4 percent at 15.90 million tonnes.
January figures were calculated by subtracting the data for February from the cumulative figures for the first two months of the year, and percentage changes from last year's data, provided by the National Bureau of Statistics.
China usually does not issue January data for crude and refined oil product output due to a week-long Lunar New Year holiday, which falls in either January or February each year.
