China to hold 2008 international seed expo in Sep

China, the world's second largest seed market, will hold its first international seed expo in Shenyang, northeast China’s Liaoning Province from Sep. 10th to 12th, according to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

The expo is targeted to be the country's largest event for the international seed industry, and it is set to attract more foreign buyers than any other meetings held in China.

It is aimed to provide better international exchange in the seed industry, according to Wan Baorui, chief of the CCPIT-specialized sub-council of agriculture, the expo organizer.

About 500 domestic and foreign seed enterprises are expected to exhibit seeds and seedlings, including cereal crops, cotton and vegetables, related technology and machinery, as well as agro-chemicals, according to Wang. This would be the best way for companies to promote their sales in China's booming seed market.
