China's insurance sector gains RMB2.92 trln in gross assets
China's insurance sector had totally gained RMB 2.92 trillion in gross assets (US$411.8 billion) by the end of January, and the sector collected RMB 105.6 billion in premiums in February, according to the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC).
According to the industry regulator, the insurance sector's gross investment totaled RMB 1.91 trillion.
Among the total premiums collected in February, RMB 28.2 billion derived from the property sector, together with RMB 70.8 billion in the property insurance, RMB 4.7 billon and RMB 1.9 billion in the health insurance and accident insurance respectively.
The indemnity payment accumulated to RMB 30.8 billion, among which RMB 10.4 billion is for the property insurance, and RMB 18.3 billion for life insurance, RMB 1.4 billion for health insurance and RMB 695 million for the accident insurance.
