Giant Interactive, Huawei form R&D partnership

A research partnership between NYSE-listed Chinese game company Giant Interactive and network equipment maker Huawei Technologies was announced on Tuesday. It aims to look into next generation research server platforms for online game applications to improve maintenance, customer service and gamer experience.

According to the agreement, Huawei will supply the hardware and customizable software while Giant will use its existing in-depth industrial expertise to provide insights for the optimization of the game server.

The mutually beneficial research partnership with Huawei will further increase Giant's competitive strengths in terms of server technology as well as differentiate itself from competitors. It will also increase Huawei's presence in the online game industry.
