Global Sources posts 16% rise in 4Q revenue year-on-year

Nasdaq-listed Global Sources has posted a revenue of US$60.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2007, a year-on-year increase of 16% from US$52.3 million.

A significant breakdown of the sources of its fourth quarter revenue includes firstly, its online revenue was US$20.5 million, up 21% from US $16.9 million. Exhibitions revenue was US$25.5 million, up 18%. Print revenue remained at US $13.5 million. Revenue from mainland China as a whole rose 28% to US$38.6 million. Total deferred income and customer prepayments were US$83.1 million, up 30% from US$63.8 million in 2006.

For the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2007, the company's revenue was US$182.1 million, compared to US$156.5 million for the previous fiscal year.

The company expects revenue for the first quarter 2008 ending March 31, 2008, to be between US$39.5 million and US$40 million, representing a gain of 13% to 15% over first quarter 2007. This is expected to come mainly from online and trade shows.
