IBM to launch supply-chain management center in Beijing Thursday

Global PC giant International Business Machines (IBM) will set up an innovation center in Beijing to design and operate supply chain networks for enterprise clients.

IBM will publish a statement on Thursday to announce the opening of the center which will offer consulting, designing and operation services on supply chain, sources said, moreover, it will provide a carbon emission simulator to help firms cut down the carbon footprint of their supply chain network.

As the fastest growing major economy in the world, China plays a pivotal role in global supply chains and also a perfect place to set up an innovation center, said Sanjeev Nagrath, a top official with IBM in the statement.
