Lenovo expects 2008 PC sales to exceed industry average

Company CFO Huang Weiming made the remarks after a special shareholdings meeting, saying that Lenovo is closely monitoring the impact of economic slowdown in the U.S. and currently its PC sales there still perform well.
Last week, Yang Yuanqing, president of Lenovo said the pressure brought by the U.S. recession is not obvious as its major markets like China, Europe grow drastically.
Elsewhere, its independent shareholders have approved a plan to sell its mobile phone division to a private fund management group led by Hony Capital for US$100 million.
