Shanghai applies to build its own Disneyland -mayor

Shanghai has applied to the Chinese central government to build a Disneyland theme park, Mayor Han Zheng said on Thursday.

"Regarding the location of the Disneyland park in Shanghai, different people have different opinions," Han told reporters on the sidelines of the annual session of parliament.

"But so far, we are still in the process of applying to the National Development and Reform Commission (economic planning agency) for approval, so the location is still not set," Han said.
