Shenhua Group Corp adds another 10-mln-ton capacity mine

Shenhua Group Corp, China's largest coal producing conglomerate, announced on Tuesday the success of the trial operation of a mine, adding another 10-million-ton capacity mine to its production line.

The Bu'ertai mine located in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has an annual capacity of 20 million metric tons, the largest in the world by capacity. It is a super-large mine with high-efficiency production as it combines functions of coal storage, delivery and washing, with an investment of RMB 4.48 billion.

Shenhua Group Corp is a wholly state-owned enterprise, incorporated in October 1995 approved by the State Council in accordance with the modern enterprise system. It is the sole large-scale energy company in China, with integrated businesses ranging from coal, power, railway, port to coal liquefaction.

On June. 15, 2005, China Shenhua Energy Company Ltd<601088><1088>, majority-owned by Shenhua Group, was successfully listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange, becoming the largest IPO among all listed coal companies globally.
