Taiwan firms may offer Chinese-language Google Android phone

Chunghwa Telecom, the largest telecom operator in the island, has already looking into working with the smartphone maker HTC on the Google phone, according to Chen Changrong, VP of the telecom company.
He also disclosed that the English language Android will come out first as they need more time to localize the software for the Chinese language version.
HTC has confirmed earlier that it is already working on a Google phone and aims for a release in late second quarter or early third quarter of this year.
HTC and Chunghwa have worked together to launch several HTC handsets before. The former is also the largest handset maker based in Windows Mobile.
