Cathay Pacific extends freight services to the U.S.

Cathay Pacific Airways<293>, Hong Kong's largest airline, plans to open freighter services to Houston and Miami cities of the U.S. in September, with a Boeing 747-400F freighter.

The service is set to be provided three times a week, departing Hong Kong every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

As Miami is the leading gateway to South and Central America and Houston is an important center for the oil business, the freight services to the two cities will boost Cathay Pacific's network and provide better access and more choices for their customers between Asia and North America, said Cathay Pacific Director General Manager Cargo Ron Mathison.

Besides the cities of Miami and Houston, Cathy Pacific will serve a total of eight major cargo hubs in the U.S.
