Haier, GE to co-develop eco-friendly washing machines

Haier Group, the third largest white goods manufacturer in the world, will cooperate with General Electronics (GE) to develop environmental friendly, energy saving, low noise and more user-friendly washing machine products, sources reported.

The tie-up will help the Qingdao-based car manufacturer to sharpen the edges in the global washer market, especially the high-end consumers. It is also a further step of Haier's customer-oriented strategy worldwide.

Haier and GE had cooperated in its Luxurii series of washing machines, which have achieved the optimal result between the laundry time and the effect of cleanliness.

The Chinese company aims to be the second largest white goods maker in the world this year, while, domestically it targets at 50% market share.
