Metso wins EUR 100 mln order from Chinese paper firm

Finnish engineering company Metso said on Monday it has won an order worth approximately EUR 100 million (US$157.6 million) from China's Shandong Bohui Paper Industry Co., Ltd<600966> to supply a coated board production line.

The production line is expected to start operation in the second half of 2009.

Metso will deliver a complete coated board line with related air systems and two winders. In addition, Metso Automation will supply an extensive automation package.

The board machine, which will have a wire width of 6.25 m and a design speed of 900 m/min, will produce close to 1,400 tonnes of folding boxboard per day. The line will include the latest technology developed by Metso, enabling raw material savings and ensuring excellent printability of the board.

The annual paper and board-making capacity of the Shangdong-based Chinese company is around 850,000 tonnes.
