Minmetals Resources books losses in 2007

Minmetals Resources Limited<1208>, a Hong Kong-listed subsidiary under China's major metal producer and trader China Minmetal Corp, booked revenue losses in 2007, announced the company in its yearly report released yesterday.

The company's revenue amounted to RMB 10.5 billion in 2007, down 18% from the previous year. The profit attributable to equity holders sank from RMB 865 million in 2006 to RMB 846 million in 2007. The earnings per share lost 10% to HK$0.453 by the end of 2007. The final dividend is supposed to be HK$0.005 per share.

Meanwhile, the company's total assets have increased 20% year-on-year to HK$9.7 billion and the equity attributable to shareholders jumped 49% to HK$6.3 million.

The company's shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange fell slightly to HK$2.86 on Tuesday.
