PetroChina Co<601857><857>, the nation's largest oil producer as well as the second-largest refiner, will shut half the crude processing capacity at its largest plant in Northern China's Dalian city for one-month maintenance, a top official with the company said on Tuesday.

The move which is scheduled to start from mid April, will involve a crude distillation unit with daily capacity of 200,000 barrels and a 70,000-barrel-a-day fluid catalytic cracker, said Zuo Hongbo, director of the equipment department of the Dalian plant.

The refinery could process a total of 400,000 barrels of crude oil a day.
