Peugeot expects to sell 150,000 vehicles in China

French automaker Peugeot Citroen expects to sell 1500,000 vehicles in China this year, a senior executive said over the weekend at the 2008 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.
The company plans to introduce two models into the Chinese market annually in three years, in order to enhance its market share, said Jean-Louis Chamla, the company's international sales and marketing vice president.

Peugeot Citroen also plans to further expand its distribution network across China. Currently, the company owns 220 distributors in 190 Chinese cities, and plans to boost the number to 260 by the end of this year as well as to enhance sales and after sales service quality in the country.

Peugeot Citroen unveiled its new C Elysee model at the Beijing auto exhibit, and more models will be introduced to China late this year.

Chamla expects sales in the Chinese market will account for around 10% of its global sales revenue.
