China Exports Rise 21.5% in First Four Months, Trade Data Shows

China's exports rose 21.5 percent in the first four months of this year, according to trade figures released by the Ministry of Commerce.

Shipments of mechanical and electrical products climbed 24.3 percent from a year earlier, the ministry said today on its Web site. That was 2.8 percentage points higher than total export growth, the ministry said.

Imports of mechanical and electrical products climbed 17.8 percent in the first four months from a year earlier, showing a 27.9 percent expansion for total imports, the statement said.
