China Shenhua's coal output up 17% in May

China Shenhua Group Corporation Ltd, a Beijing-based energy generator and supplier, had a total coal output of 21.41 million tons in May, a year-on-year growth of 17%, according to an announcement of State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC).

Shenhua's coal sales hit 24.3 million tons in May, up 11% from a year earlier, said the announcement.

Shenhua Group is the biggest coal enterprise in China in terms of assets. Early in June, the company had signed a framework agreement with the local government of Ordos City to jointly develop a hundred-million-ton coalfield, as reported.
