Taiwan's LNG imports rise at slowest pace in 5 months
Taiwan, Asia's fourth-largest importer of liquefied natural gas, increased imports of the fuel at the slowest pace in five months as electricity sales fell in May. CPC Corp.'s LNG purchases climbed 2.8 percent to 1.768 million kiloliters of the fuel, or 801,000 metric tons, at a cost of US$586 million compared with a year earlier, the government's Energy Bureau said in an e-mailed statement yesterday.
