EMC launches advanced technology support center in China
EMC Corp (EMC), the world's largest data storage company, launched its advanced technology support center in China along with the booming development of its R&D centers in the country, said industry sources.
The U.S.-based data storage company has been attaching great importance to its Chinese customers, said Jim Donovan, EMC's vice president and general manager of R&D centers in China, adding that EMC's decision of setting up the advanced technology support center in China represents the company's further commitment to the country as well as the rest of the region.
Donovan noted the new center will provide more efficient and timely services to its global customers, especially those in the Asia-Pacific region, considering that there are many bi-lingual technical talents and specialists in China.
EMC's R&D center in Shanghai was founded in July 2006. A year later, the company launched another R&D center in Tsinghua Science Park, Beijing. Currently, EMC hired more than 1,000 engineers engaged in R&D in China.
