Mannings launches 1st outlet in Shanghai

Mannings, a leading health and beauty chain in Hong Kong, has started its mainland expansion by opening its first store in Shanghai, as per industry sources.

With the existing 50 stores mainly in South China, Manning will shift its focus to East China, Chongqing, Chengdu and Beijing, and hopes to add more outlets in the area over the next three to five years.

Mannings remains optimistic about its mainland expansion as it has adequate funding and sustainable human resources, according to Li Liangmei, a senior executive with Mannings.

The company's major rival in the market Watsons has already opened over 200 stores.

Mannings is a unit of Hong Kong Dairy Farm Group, which manages brands like Wellcome, Ikea, 7-11, Maxim's, Starbucks, Guardian, Hero and Cold Storage.
