Motorola wins network deals worth $431m from China Mobile

Motorola won multiple network expansion orders worth $431 million from the world's top mobile operator, China Mobile, in the first half of 2008, a Reuters report said.

The company, which plans to spin off its mobile device business next year, said about 50% of the revenue from these contracts was recognized in the first half.

The latest contract follows a $394 million contract over the same period last year, the company said.

Motorola's some of the recent wins include expansion contracts with VNPT Group in Vietnam, Mobily in Saudi Arabia, and Celtel Nigeria in Nigeria, the company said in a statement.
