Dairy gets boost

China will boost lending to dairy producers and give subsidies to milk farmers after tainted milk shook consumer confidence and eroded sales, the National Development and Reform Commission said yesterday.

Lenders should provide loans and ease non-repayment penalties, and the state will offer discounted three-month loans and other financing sources to help producers buy milk.
