Expansion plan

Shanghai International Airport Co, operator of China's second-busiest airfield, will increase landing slots for airlines "significantly" next year as the city prepares for the World Expo in 2010.

"The expansion will be a major source for our profit growth next year," said Jia Ruijun, president of the airport operator, yesterday without detailing. Takeoffs and landings in the city rose 7.6 percent to 440,809 last year.
