ADBC NPL ratio drops to 5.1% as of end-Sep

The non-performing loan (NPL) ratio of the Agricultural Development Bank of China (ADBC) as of the end of September went down by 0.3% to 5.1% from 5.4% by the end of June, sources reported, citing Zheng Hui, ADBC governor, as saying.

Its NPL at the end of March was 6.07%, down 0.22% from 6.29% as the end of 2007.

Zheng said the loan balance amounted to RMB 1.127 trillion as of the end of September. He expected the operating profits this year to exceed RMB 20 billion, compared with RMB 14.88 billion a year earlier.

ADBC booked a loan balance of RMB 1.02 trillion at the end of last year, up RMB 138 billion from a year earlier, China Knowledge reported earlier.
