Datang, Korea Electric Power cooperate in China wind farms

China Datang Corporation, parent of Datang International Power Generation Corp<601991><991>, and Korea Electric Power Corporation have set a joint venture (JV) to develop two wind farms in Inner Mongolia region, northern China, sources reported.

The total installed capacity of the wind farms is 250,000 kw. The newly-founded JV, located in Tongliao city, will be engaged in developing the two wind farms.

One of the wind farm with a capacity of 50,000 kw has already started operations in Huolin Gol City, while the other one is scheduled to start operation in 2009, the company said.

Korea Electric Power is the first foreign enterprise that cooperates with China Datang to jointly develop wind power.
